Relationships Take Work—But They Don’t Have to Be a Constant Struggle

Every relationship faces challenges. Maybe communication has broken down, conflicts feel impossible to resolve, or the connection that once felt effortless now feels distant. These challenges are normal, but they don’t have to define your relationship.

Therapy provides a path toward understanding, repair, and deeper intimacy. With the right tools, couples can break old patterns, learn healthier ways of relating, and strengthen their relationship in ways that last.

If you and your partner are motivated to do the work, I can help you develop the skills to communicate more effectively, resolve conflicts with care, and build a relationship where both of you feel valued, seen, and cherished.

Who I Work With

I offer couples therapy and premarital counseling for committed, monogamous couples in dating or marriage relationships. My work is focused on helping couples who:

  • Recognize that their relationship is struggling and are motivated to create real change

  • Want to learn and practice new communication skills that foster deeper connection

  • Need support in resolving conflicts and rebuilding trust

  • Desire to cherish one another and themselves within the relationship

If you feel like you and your partner keep having the same fights, are struggling to reconnect, or need help building a strong foundation before marriage, couples therapy can help.

I also offer individual therapy for relationship challenges, which may be a good fit if you want to work on your relationship but your partner isn’t ready for therapy yet.

How Couples Therapy Can Help

In our work together, you and your partner will:

  • Develop healthier communication patterns that make both partners feel heard

  • Learn conflict-resolution and repair skills so disagreements don’t spiral into resentment

  • Identify old relational patterns that may be keeping you stuck—and replace them with healthier ones

  • Rebuild trust and emotional safety in your relationship

  • Strengthen your ability to navigate challenges together and create lasting change

Problems in relationships are inevitable, but how you work through them determines whether they strengthen or weaken your bond. My goal is to help you develop the skills to handle challenges with more ease, so you’re not just fixing what’s broken—you’re building a relationship that’s more resilient for the future.

My Approach: Relational Life Therapy (RLT)

I have training in Relational Life Therapy (RLT) and am currently working toward certification as a Relational Life Therapy coach. RLT is a direct yet compassionate method that helps couples quickly identify and shift unhealthy patterns, empowering both partners to take responsibility and create meaningful change.

Unlike traditional approaches that take a neutral stance, RLT gets straight to the heart of the issues—helping couples move out of destructive cycles and into relational healing as quickly as possible. This approach is deeply rooted in accountability, emotional intelligence, and learning how to love well, both as an individual and within the relationship.

Premarital Counseling: Build a Strong Foundation

If you and your partner are preparing for marriage, premarital counseling can help you enter this next phase of your relationship with clarity, confidence, and the tools to navigate challenges before they arise.

Premarital counseling can help couples:

  • Improve communication and conflict-resolution skills

  • Strengthen emotional intimacy and connection

  • Discuss expectations around finances, family, roles, and future goals

  • Address any areas of concern before marriage

By investing in your relationship before problems arise, you’re building a foundation that can sustain your partnership through life’s inevitable ups and downs.

Is Couples Therapy Right for You?

Couples therapy is for you if:

  • You and your partner are willing to take an honest look at your relationship patterns

  • You are motivated to learn and implement new skills

  • You want to restore connection, intimacy, and trust

Couples therapy is not the right fit if:

  • One or both partners is unwilling to engage in self-reflection or take responsibility for their role in the relationship

  • There is ongoing physical or emotional abuse (a different type of support is needed in these cases)

  • You are looking for a quick fix without committing to the work

Relationships are not meant to be effortless, but they shouldn’t feel impossible either. If you and your partner are ready to do the work, I’d love to help you create lasting change.
